Tuesday, 11/1/16: Part 4 Project Work Time

1. I received your feedback on my class. Thank you!  Some things that stood out:

• Some of you need more work time.  Unfortunately, I can't extend the exhibition.  However, I'm happy to help you as needed. Let's talk during work time today if you need help with time management, etc...
• Some of you want more discussions in class. We'll do that a bit this week.
• Some of you asked for more work time and less mini-lesson in class. Typically I need to do some mini-lesson work. I try to limit that to 1/4-1/3 of class time.  I've found that if I give students the ENTIRE class time, it's too much unstructured time and not productive.
• Anything else?

3rd period: We have a guest speaker in the commons.  He is an activist and campaign manager whose focus is teaching young people how to work the legislative system and bring about actual change.  Topical, no?
