STARTER:
  • File--> Make a copy of this helpful document of all remaining deadlines!
  • Read page 1
  • Fill out the second page with your plan for work time this week based on the deadlines!
  • Share it with Ashley upon completion

Class Biz
  • Go over any questions y'all have about assignments/
  • Ashley to explain vision for Exhibition and clarify the Google classroom assignment:  If you haven't already, open the assignment I emailed you in GOOGLE CLASSROOM to send me a copy of your visual piece.  Attach the file  and send it to me VIA that GOOGLE CLASSROOM assignment.  If you are reading your Happiness and Meaning philosophy, you need to send me your visual piece for that. If you are reading your Sense of Place essay, send me an image that best captures your sense of place or the main idea of your writing piece.
  • Establishing peer critique groups: Who has a draft ready for peer critique? You MUST have your draft critiqued before you submit it to me on Friday, so today is ideally when you'd do that otherwise you're on your own for finding a group and completing today's protocol.
  • Have you written your abstract for your sense of place piece yet? It's pretty simple and should be a paragraph at the top of your paper....

Directions for the Abstract:
Your essay must include an abstract that explains how you are defining sense of place according to the categories of sense of place (what type of relationship and/or community attachment do you show in the essay) and what your environmental ethic is. Your abstract should include a quote from your essay that best shows both of these components.

AGENDA
1. Peer Critique Protocol
  • Ashley will read over it first!
  • ****If you aren't ready for critique today, download the protocol document and copy and paste it to the bottom of your current sense of place draft for later use.
  • Highlight the 2 categories on the rubric you think you need the most help with and write a "focusing question" that you'd like your group to help you answer (i.e. "Is my sense of place clear? How can I integrate my environmental ethic more smoothly? I hate the way I describe this setting-- how can I improve it?")
  • Get into groups and select time keeper
  • Begin protocol

2. Refine your sense of place writing once done with peer critique
